Presentation of the book "the vaccine against addictions" by josé antonio marina
The Estepona Town Hall announces that philosopher and educator José Antonio Marina will present his book, 'The Vaccine Against Addictions,' on June 1st at 8:00 PM. The event will take place at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center and will be introduced by journalist Francisco Reyero.
In this latest book, the author warns about the silent advance of addictions in today's society and analyzes how technology, consumerism, and certain habits affect our freedom and decision-making capacity. Through an informative and reflective approach, the author proposes education and prevention as fundamental tools to combat this new social epidemic.
Born in Toledo, José Antonio Marina is a professor of philosophy and holds an honorary doctorate from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. His research has focused on the study of intelligence, particularly the mechanisms of artistic (especially in the area of language), scientific, technological, and economic creativity.
A contributor to media outlets and a lecturer, his extensive work has received numerous awards, including the 2023 Humanist Thought Award. Marina has managed to break free from academic constraints and bring a different way of understanding life to the general public.
The book launch will take place next Monday, June 1st, at 8:00 PM in the concert hall of the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center. The presentation will be given by Francisco Reyero, a journalist with extensive professional experience, including work for newspapers such as La Razón and frequent appearances as a commentator on current affairs programs such as Espejo Público (Antena 3), Más de uno and La Brújula (Onda Cero), and Canal Sur Radio and Television.
