Pictorial lecture "revisiting bosch" by rocio garin

The Culture Department is holding a pictorial lecture on 'Bosch' at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center

The lecture 'Revisiting Bosch' will be given by Rocío Garín, teacher of the Municipal Drawing and Painting Workshop, on Monday, November 24, at 7:00 p.m., with free admission until capacity is reached.

The Estepona City Council informs that next Monday, November 24, at 7:00 p.m., a pictorial conference on 'El Bosco', considered one of the best masters of Flemish painting, will be given in the Press Room of the Padre Manuel Cultural Center.

The talk, with free admission until capacity is reached, will be given by Rocío Garín, teacher of the Drawing and Painting Workshop of the municipal delegation of Culture.

Among other aspects, the speaker will take a journey through the life, style and influences of the work of the painter Jheronimus van Aken (Hertogenbosch, c. 1450-1516), known as 'El Bosco', through some of his best-known works, such as 'The Garden of Earthly Delights', 'The Extraction of the Stone of Madness' or 'The Haywain'.

In this way, attendees will be able to interpret his paintings, appreciate how much of his own autobiography 'Bosch' reflected in his works, or how much they are relevant today, and all those aspects that have been discovered in recent years about this enigmatic painter, in order to understand the artist in a comprehensive way.

The activity, with free admission until capacity is reached, is open to the public of all ages, and aims to promote interest in the visual arts.

Rocío Garín. From a very young age, the Estepona-born artist Rocío Garín (1977) has enjoyed “drawing and painting,” a passion that led her to study at the School of Arts and Crafts in Algeciras and, later, at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Seville, where she graduated in 2001. She quickly began working as a restorer of some of the most significant monuments in Seville, as well as church facades in the Andalusian capital.

Since her return to Estepona in 2002, she has taught drawing and painting classes, an activity she combines with three aspects of her artistic facet: as a researcher, as an artist, and as a teacher, she has developed different teaching methods.

In 2013 he published a “Drawing and Painting Manual” which includes the main techniques and tools to consider in the first year of student training.
