Photo expo "peru inside. portraits of everyday" by alba santos
Photographer Alba Santos presents a documentary exhibition at the Casa de Las Tejerinas, reflecting her vision of Peru.
The photographic exhibition 'Peru Inside. Portraits of the Everyday' will be on display from November 20 to December 13, with free admission.
The Estepona City Council informs that Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host the documentary photography exhibition 'Peru inside. Portraits of the everyday', by local photographer Alba Santos, from November 20 to December 17.
The exhibition consists of around twenty photographs and stems from a trip the photographer took to Peru in collaboration with a humanitarian aid organization. “They invited me to document the work they were doing with local families and communities. During that time, I traveled to different parts of the country, living with the people I photographed and capturing small fragments of their lives with my camera,” says Alba Santos.
The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Friday, from 09:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00, with free admission.
Alba Santos Gavira was born and raised in Estepona. “Since childhood, art has been my way of being in the world. I would spend hours drawing, painting, creating costumes, or building small sets. I enjoyed inventing and giving shape to what I imagined. That creative impulse led me to study Fine Arts at the University of Málaga, where I discovered my great passion: photography.”
I fell in love with its ability to tell stories, as if each image were a scene from a film. Although I work with different genres, documentary photography has a special character for me: it shows what is real, the everyday, what happens right before our eyes. It's an invitation to observe other ways of living, feeling, and inhabiting the world. In addition to my personal projects, I work professionally in commercial photography, mainly for restaurants, real estate, and architecture. I've also worked as a graphic designer and I'm deeply interested in interior design. This combination of experiences has shaped my way of seeing, making me more aware of my surroundings, of aesthetics, and how they influence our way of life. Years after graduating, I completed a master's degree specializing in fashion and advertising photography, further expanding my visual language.
